The GLCV4 Editor is a powerful, web-based tool for building and customizing your launchers. Like any live editor that works with accounts, sessions, and cloud data, you might sometimes run into issues. This guide explains how the editor works (in user-friendly terms) and provides solutions to the most common problems.
How the Editor Works
Think of the editor as a live design canvas connected to your account.
When you log in, the system creates a session (like a ticket that proves it’s really you).
This session is powered by something called a JWT token (fancy name for that ticket).
While your editor is open, that ticket is constantly checked to keep everything secure.
If the ticket expires, is replaced (for example, by logging in somewhere else), or if your internet connection breaks, the editor may close or ask you to log back in.
“Your session has expired” / “Session invalid”
What it means:
Your login ticket has timed out or become invalid. This can happen if:
You’ve been idle in the editor for a while.
You logged into your account on another device/browser.
Your internet dropped briefly and the session check failed.
Fix:
Close the editor tab.
Log back in from your main dashboard.
Relaunch the editor.
“Network Error” or “Could not connect to server”
What it means:
The editor tried to talk to the server but didn’t get a response. Common causes are:
A temporary internet drop.
A firewall, VPN, or antivirus blocking connections.
The server being under maintenance.
Fix:
Refresh the editor page.
Check your internet connection.
If you’re using a VPN, try disabling it temporarily.
Wait a few minutes and try again if the servers are busy.
